Rwandans wait in line for treatment at the AmeriCares (CQ) clinic in Buranga, Rwanda in 1994. The clinic saw between 200 and 350 people per day with a myriad of health problems resulting from a collapsed infrastructure resulting from civil war. The clinic served people who would walk as many as four hours to reach the location as well as a trickle of refugees returning from the camps in Goma, Zaire (now Congo). The Connecticut relief organization ran the clinic in the fall of 1994. (Photo Rick D'Elia)
