Northern Uganda Conflict

Children fall asleep under the roof of shelter constructed by Catholic Relief Services in the Rural Focus Uganda (RUFOU) shelter in Gulu, Uganda, March 24, 2004. The shelter is one of many housing night commuters in the war-torn northern Uganda region. Night commmuters leave their homes in the countryside before nightfall to avoid bands of the Lord's Resistance Army who abduct people, especially children to carry heavy loads and to become soldiers in their self-proclaimed rebel army.
