Northern Uganda Conflict

Home to 25,000 people the Awer camp for internally displaced persons lies 15 kilometers northwest of Gulu Town in Northern Uganda. More than 2 million live in IDP camps accross northern Uganda, forced out of their homes in the country side by the 18-year-old war with the Lord's Resistance Army. The LRA's leader Joseph Kony does not issue demands and continues attacking soft targets such as IDP camps and kidnapps people to become soldiers and porters. (Rick D'Elia)
